Humans have been using symbols for millennia to tell their stories, to teach their babies about safety, about culture, and to navigate the unknown: the big world, the darkness, the deeply felt spirit of things beyond what we could see or touch, but could feel and needed to describe, to share, to harness, or shift. While we've explained away a lot of that mystery with science, there's still so much we don't know, still much to be discovered in the realms of that which we can't see or hold.

The painting I've created for this hat is covered with symbols that for me hold power for creation, for love, for allowing the good that comes from memory or nostalgia, while also encouraging us to look to the future and what we're yet to create. Symbols that remind us of the power of the universe, and of our own power to create as a living part of that universe.
